OTHER STATE INFORMATION:
The two things driving related that must be completed within 30 days of moving to Idaho are your driver’s license and your car registration. Unlike other states, these two items are split between two different organizations which sometimes have different physical locations. Your driver’s license is issued by your local county’s Sheriff’s DMV office and your car registration is issued by your local Assessor’s DMV office. Please see the online pamphlet that explains the details of getting both items updated for Idaho.
A helpful website we’ve found to study for the written driver’s test is: Free Idaho (ID) DMV Practice Tests – Updated for 2025 (And yes, there may be questions related to driving and cows on the test if you get that version.)
You can also go to the official state website that also details how to register to vote, registering your boat, local colleges, employment resources and more at Moving to Idaho| The Official Website of the State of Idaho
For information about the fun side of Idaho, this website will give you information about places to go, where to eat and more. Check out information about hot springs, rafting, culinary experiences, winter fun, historical sites and so much more!
