The Middleton Friends of the Library actively works to raise funds and supports the Middleton Public Library.
Members of the Friends of the Library help with large scale events, organize and work at quarterly book sales, and may volunteer in the library in a variety of positions. The Friends of the Library also has carts in the library selling used books and DVD’s to help raise funds for library projects.
The Friends meet once a month usually in the library unless it is a holiday and the library is closed. THE OCTOBER MEETING WILL BE ON MONDAY, 10/7 at 10:00 AM AT THE MIDDLETON PUBLIC LIBRARY (307 Cornell St.) (It is usually the first Monday of each month, but if a holiday falls on the day, it will be rescheduled for the following Monday). We are always looking for more Friends and would love to have you join us in our efforts as we support the library. If you can’t attend the meeting in person, the Friends will have a virtual Zoom meeting set up as well.

If you can spare a few hours a few times a year, we always need assistance with our book sales. The next book sale will occur Thursday, Friday and Saturday September 12th, 13th and 14th at the Middleton United Methodist Church at 104 E. Main St. in Middleton. If you know of any students who need Community Service hours, this is an excellent opportunity to complete some hours to help set up the sale, work at the sale and tear down.
If you have an hour every other week, the book sale carts in the library need to be refilled and organized. Even if you have very little time to give, we can find something you can do to help us raise money and make the library a better place for the community!
We really need assistance in the following areas:
- maintaining the membership list and sending emails/texts to members
- volunteers to work at the Book Sales (the next one will sometime in the summer from 10-3 pm on a Friday and Saturday at the United Methodist Church at 104 E. Main St.)
- marketing and public relations
- fundraising ideas and implementation
- transporting books from the library to the church (we really need some volunteers with healthy backs!)
- helping to stock and maintain the sale cart in the library
- promoting the addition of new members
Some of the items the Friends have contributed to are:
- summer library interns
- large print book donations
- STEM kits
- changing station in the restroom
- the bench and pergola outside the library
- storage closet upkeep
This is the latest fundraiser to raise money for the Middleton Public Library –
