STEAM Classes – Saturdays

August 22, 2023 By Library Staff

We’ll be starting a monthly STEAM class for 3rd through 8th graders!  All classes will be held here at the library at 307 Cornell Street. There is a limit of 12 kids per class, so please enroll early to make sure you have a spot.  CLICK HERE to enroll!

The classes will cover:

10/7 – Chemistry for Kids! THIS CLASS IS FULL! BUT TO SIGN UP FOR THE WAITING LIST, CLICK ABOVE!  Instant snow, breath-free balloon blow-up, elephant toothpaste, slime-a-thon, etc. This will be MESSY, so please dress for mess. (This class will be held outside, so 20 kids will be able to register.)

11/4 – Animal Adaptations – Owls – Learn about Bernoulli’s principal as it applies to flight. Dissect a sanitized owl pellet and identify the bones you find to determine what the owl ate for dinner.

12/9 – Introduction to Coding – In this session for kids with no prior experience in coding, you will write your name in binary code, make a bracelet in binary code, and program various small robots to go where you want by using directional coding. This will prepare you for Hour of Code block coding activities on the computer and is a fun introduction to computer science
